about

I wrote this song in the days after my little brother Connor died of a Heroine overdose. I don't know how to grieve, who does really? So I wrote this melody. I thought it was beautiful and sad, which perfectly describes the life of my little brother.

This song was recorded live onto a handheld cassette tape recorded during a power outage in New Orleans. It seemed like the power would go out and the streets would flood nearly every day around 2 or 3 pm. Most days that meant that I took a break or a nap but on this day I had the mojo going and couldn't be stopped for a flood or storm so I performed this song onto the handheld recorder and mixed it down with (reversed from the other side) dialogue on the Tascam 424.
